Dr. Mark Zigoris, D.D.S.

ZigorisPhoto1Dr. Zigoris received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1960 from the Ohio State University. After three years of military service as a dental officer in the United States Air Force, he completed an Oral Surgery Residency at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. He received his Master of Science and Certificate in Periodontics from the Ohio State University in 1966.

During his distinguished academic career, Dr. Zigoris was professor and Chairman of the Department of Periodontics at the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry (1966 to 1983) and at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (1983 to 1986). During his entire academic career, Dr. Zigoris engaged in the private practice of the specialty of periodontics with 46 years of experience. For the past 24 years, he has maintained a practice limited to periodontics in Montgomery.
A member of all of the major dental societies and the American Academy of Periodontology, he has served as president of the Greater Cincinnati Society of Periodontists and the Ohio Academy of Periodontology and has received numerous awards for excellence. Over the years, he has taught many continuing education courses and has presented at both regional and national meetings.

With a broad knowledge and experience in all areas of periodontics, Dr. Zigoris has focused his practice to the area of bone regeneration and preventive dentistry. He has a strong commitment to patient education and preventive practices which he feels is the key to long term periodontal treatment success.
Dr. Zigoris has been married to his wife, Irene, for thirty five years and has three children and three grandchildren. His musical interests vary from classical/opera to a wide variety of ethnic music including Bluegrass, Greek, Arabic, Indian and Jazz. Traveling has always been an important part of his recreational life having visited every continent except Antartica (next on the list). His Hellenic heritage draws him back to Greece often. His love of history is expressed by voracious reading of Russian, Middle East and European history as well as volunteering at the Cincinnati HistoryMuseum.
